does your confidence shift with anxiety?

if you suffer from an anxiety problem, which used to be helped by smoking marijuana all the time, and then you get treatment with a therapist and medication, and stop smoking marijuana (going from a few bowls a day to not smoking at all), does your confidence go up and down and get a little shaky? I feel completely confident when I’m alone and around other people, even friends I’ve known for years and family, I get a little stirred and shaky. Start thinking their smoothly talking about how I’m being an asshole or something because of the way I act when i get all anxiety ridden. Anyways, thoughts or own experiences could be written here.

I think your right about confidence and anxiety, they kinda both go hand-in-hand.
If you have an anxiety attack, everything seems to change, you doubt yourself, can’t think straight, your judgment is not what it should be…all because of an attack.
That’s probably what triggers your anxiety at times, is this way of thinking that people don’t/can’t accept you or you may feel that they are talking behind your back….again this leads to lack of confidence, which in turn could turn into an anxiety attack.
Try some simple things, I know this is gonna sound weird or maybe not, but some deep breathing exercises when you start to feel yourself tightening up…..go off somewhere and be alone (if you can) to try and re-organize your thoughts.
Try and shove the bad thoughts and doubts out of your mind….
It does help, trust me….maybe not all the time, but it does work
    Best of luck to you…

Well, good job getting off weed – that takes guts. You should have some confidence just by doing that! But an anxiety problem is serious, and it’s not something that should be laughed at. I suggest: stay off weed, it’s not helping you. You might feel crappy physically when you quit cold turkey, but quitting is a good thing! Stay away from those people who are making you feel bad. And get help from a psychologist, because they can help you feel less nervous. Trust me, psychologists are not "just for crazy people".

    Good luck!

I’m bi-polar, medicated, and get anxiety attacks out of the blue. I can appear poised and confident one minute and all of a sudden I’ll turn into a quivering pile of jello. I’ll start to sweat, shake and babble. At this point I head to the nearest restroom or exit. Congratulations on breaking the marijuana habit, that’s quite an accomplishment.
